Bikeability
Rachel qualified as a Bikeability Accredited National Standard Cycle Training Instructor in 2008, and is available to teach Bikeability at Levels 1, 2 and 3 to individuals and groups, privately and in schools and workplaces.Bikeability is the all new cycle training scheme for the 21st Century. Developed in accordance with the National Standard, it provides consistent, high quality cycle training to both children and adults. It is a fantastic way for cyclists of any age and experience to feel safer and more confident when riding on today's roads. It teaches riders how to ride in a way that allows them more room on the road and makes them more visible (and therefore respected) by other road users.

Level 1a
Would you like your child (or yourself) to be able to ride without help? Rachel is able to teach riders of any age how to balance on their bike correctly and with confidence. This training takes place one to one and can be done in 30 mins to 1 hr sessions as required. Locations and times to suit.
Level 1b
Having mastered your balance on the bike, would you now like to be able to control it in a traffic free area? This course will deliver the skills needed to progress to an on-road environment. Two 1 hour sessions can be arranged on a one to one basis or for groups of 6 riders of similar ability.
Level 2
After completing a Level 2 course you will be equipped with all the skills needed to ride safely and visibly on the road. The course incorporates a Level 1 skills check in an off-road environment and a full bike safety check. Most of the Level 2 course then takes place in an on-road environment. Level 2 courses are mainly delivered to groups of 6 children by 1 instructor in Primary schools. Bikeability has been designed to fit in with the National Curriculum and can therefore be taught during school hours as part of PE lessons. Funding for Bikeability cycle training may be accessed by the school via the Schools Sports Partnership. Level 2 training can also be delivered on a one to one basis.
Level 3
This is the most advanced level of on-road cycle training and is mainly taught on a one to one/one to two basis. This training is most beneficial for children who have recently completed their Level 2 cycle training and it has been shown that pupils who receive follow up training exhibit the safest riding. Usually delivered in a 2 hour session with either one or two riders, Level 3 covers a child's usual route to and from school and for adult riders, their commute to work.
